Hi!
In a follow up to the last Email. Like Alex I hummed and hawed over the ID of the Jaegers until one of them came close giving a view of the black cap which extended to a pigtail at the back of the head, the size compared to the shearwaters was also a big factor for me. Curiosity, is there any specific books giving IDs of these birds in all plumages, and with views of the " back" of the young birds, very few guides seem to do this. There were some birds out there with whitish colourings on rumps and top of tails, the tails ending with a broad dark band. I was leaning towards the Skuas on colouring but they were too far out to be sure of anything, any suggestions?
Cheers
