On my early morning walk, I traced the "quieter" Koel to a large gum tree corner Cowper and Foveaux streets.  Its softer ko-el, followed by a kurra kurra kurra, was answered by a  ko-el from a bird somewhere near the ABC studios (Northbourne Ave).

The Herbert st Koel has not been calling constantly these last days.
