Thanks to all contributors to the housing density question - especially Charles for adding the .pdf as an attachment. I have printed it off for Michael as it is a question he has long been interested in - ever since his 'dense' Berlin days. He also began in 1977 a study of suburban garden/vegetation vs. bird density/species in such areas as Aranda, Curtin and Ainslie - a survey he has wanted to repeat now that intervening years have markedly altered the relative vegetation types and density.

To me this has always seemed a rather ambitious project, with a great number of parameters - but if there are others also interested, then maybe catch up with him on his return to Aust.
Cheers, Janette
