Subject: [canberrabirds] Wednesday walk for January
At the conclusion of the Wednesday walk for November it was
agreed amongst those present that we'd not have a walk in December but would
fire up again in January. The venue was to be decided.
Mike Robbins and I have corresponded about venue and have
concluded that it was desirable to avoid the suburbs during the holidays and to
try somewheer riverine in the hope it will be cooler. We also don't
want to make it too long a drive. Thus we are proposing Urriara
Crossing meeting at 9am on 16 January at the roadside parking area marked with
a '1' in the attached Google Earth extract. Depending on: the weather;
how people feel; and of course what birds are around we could then carry on to
the treks maked as 2 and 3.
Between the three venues we should get a good crop of birds.
Of course in keeping with the collaborative spirit of these
trips if anyone else has other ideas we're happy to consider them.
