A visit to Kellys Swamp and the Fyshwick sewage ponds today to help get my 2008 ACT Year List off to a decent start was rewarded with exquisite views of an Intermediate Egret in full breeding regalia at Kellys (a Great Egret also present provides a brilliant comparison), and five Freckled Ducks, including a male with a red wash around the base of the upper mandible, on pond 4 at the sewage works.
