Lyn and I went for a walk on Xmas Eve around our place.  At the junction of the old Wells Station road and the new extension of Mapleton Drive, between the old Wells Station Homested and the new Gungahlin East public school, we came across a family of Yellow-tailed blacks (two adults plus 'teenager') in a eucalypt, one of those that line the old road.  One of the adults was doing its best to turn it into wood chips in search of borers etc.  As we watched them being first time I've seen them in the area, a couple of superb parrots flew through - which are a daily site at the momment.  Two birds from different types of habitats overlapping!
