As I was listening to a male Satin Bowerbird song yesterday it suddenly came forth with a soft but perfect imitation of a Laughing Kookaburra, then repeated it about 30 seconds later.  I haven't seen a Kookaburra here in Holder for about 30 years.  My only previous experience of SBB mimicry was at Durras when one provided a very passable Whistling Kite impression. Has anyone else experienced similar mimicry from these birds?

Also in Holder a Koel has been calling for the last few mornings from about 6am to 7.30.

Cheers
