My own photos all show a blue or at least aqua face on
the (adult)
males, as does the Aust Museum Photo Field Guide.
The face colour is
clearly different from that of the rest of the head. But
Morcombe
shows no diff at all, a yellowy-green face which I'd say
is plain
incorrect unless there is a regional variation. To
my eyes P&K and
S&D both hint at it but don't show it as strong as it
appears in real
life in most light. Maybe yours were more blue than
I'm talking about?
