Hello all,
Just came back from Kelly's. It appears that the Chestnut Teal pair is actually a lone Male Chestnut paired with a female Grey (see picture attached). I'm very familiar with Chestnut Teals from down the coast and females Chestnuts are darker birds that don't have such a bright cheek. The pair have 9 healthy, half-grown hybrid chicks...(picture of them also attached). Also at Kelly's 3 Glossy Ibis (very close to Cygnus hide), 1 Latham's Snipe, 4 Little Corellas and a (late?) male Scarlet Robin...No Black-winged Stilts or Freckled Ducks though.
Cheers!
Dimitris
