'Shorebirds of Australia' Andrew Geering et al, CSIRO Publishing. I've only just received it, and haven't had (and won't have for some time) a chance to use it, but it looks good. It covers all of the 'core' of Charadriiformes, ie waders, plovers etc, painted snipe (sigh), stone curlews, stilts/avocet, oystercatchers, Plains Wanderer, pratincoles and jacana. Good field guide section, double page per species; I especially like the extensive Similar Species section for each! Also chapters on evolution, ecology, migration and conservation.

cheers

Ian
