The car-parks in Irving Street, Philip used to have wide shrubberies
around and through the middle of them with lots of mulch; these were
happy hunting grounds for the Philip Street Choughs. (I'm not sure if
these Choughs were the ones sometimes seen around Philip College
further to the east, but in the last couple of years they nested in
the grounds of the swimming pool in Irvine Street).

Anyway, the car-park has recently been renovated to make it
pay-parking and all the shrubberies have been removed. This morning at
around 7am I saw a group of Choughs in the middle of this concrete
desert attacking a McDonalds bag!
