About 45 minutes ago as I was on my run around Pt Hut Pond, I came upon a Black-tailed Native Hen on the grassy verge in front of the houses on the western side. It ran for cover when it saw me but I got a good enough view of it - especially the erect "bantam" tail - to know it wasn't a Moorhen or Swamphen or Coot. Pity it wasn't there on Saturday when I "blitzed" the Pond.
