I was at Kelly's this evening. From the Cygnus Hide I observed the
Glossy Ibis, a Latham's Snipe, one solitary Stilt and a Cattle Egret
in breeding plumage.

I then moved to the mound planted with Casuarinas that stands over the
channel leading to Jerrabombera Creek. I concentrated on the end where
the reeds close over the channel. Towards dusk I observed crakes
moving about but couldn't get a proper view as they were under the
near bank. So climbed about 15' into a casuarina and was surprisingly
comfortable as I observed 1 Baillon's Crake, 2 Australian Crakes and 1
Buff-Banded Rail emerge from the reeds and feed in the shallows as
twilight came. No Lewin's Rail, however.
