early morning bird call

I think that the sound Geoffrey is describing is what the female of the Pied Currawong pair nesting in the tree in my yard uses as a copulation invitation call. This all leads me to wonder where would one draw the line between what parts of the repertoire of the Pied Currawong constitute "song" and which parts constitute "calls". Not that I think there really is a dividing difference in this species (in many species there is). Someone wrote recently to B-A suggesting a very different learning / instinctive component applies to song and calls. A point I disagreed with at the time.
