HANZAB, Volume 4, p.350, mentions Eastern Rosellas nesting in rabbit burrow, also tunnel in sandbank of river and sandmining area.

For three consecutive years, 2004-2006, a pair of Rainbow Lorikeets nested successfully, producing an unknown number of young, in an underground hollow beneath a cut-off tree-stump in Wahroonga, NSW. Australian Field Ornithology, Volume 24, number 2, pp.86-87.
