I had a pleasant and productive morning wandering around the whole Jerra wetlands complex from 0700-1000 this morning. I even had a long chat with Sandy the lessee.

Waterbird highlights included two Sharp-tailed Sandpipers, one Spotless Crake, one Pied Cormorant, one Latham’s Snipe, one Nankeen Night Heron and three Black-fronted Dotterels.

It was also nice to see returning migrants which included Pallid Cuckoo and Horsfield’s Bronze-Cuckoo, both Martins, Noisy Friarbird and White-naped, Yellow-faced and Fuscous Honeyeaters.

Regards

Alastair
