Hello All,
Yes I think the first record of this Snipe is quite
remarkable.....In my youth during the early sixties,I was a keen shooter of
Quail and used to be friends with a group of Braidwood shooters one of whom
took me to shoot Snipe....He opined with a wealth of practical folklore to
support him that Snipe generally arrived with the first full moon in
October....since then I have seen the odd one in September,but August is
very early indeed...Terry Gourlay.
