Thanks, Geoffrey. No, not quite kamikaze. Quite hard to catch because of their speed – they veer off about five metres from their target. Nikon D200 at 5 fps in hope- for- the- best nearest subject auto mode.

Excellent shots Ray.  Canon in A1 Servo mode?  (I think the point about kamikazes is that the operator extinguishes himself at the end of the dive, something rarely observed in Masked Lapwings)  Geoffrey
