Julian and others
Any colour banding sighting can be reported to the Australian Bird and Bat
Banding Scheme at Please give species, colours
observed (including which leg they are on), date and location.
A high res pic or other pics of the same bird would be useful in determining
the colours. To me the low res Caspian Tern pic looks like orange on the
right.
Often, a single colour band on one leg may indicate a cohort or banding
location rather than an individual.
Cheers
Anthony

I meant to point out the bands on one of the Caspian Terns as Suzi
mentioned, a yellow band on the right leg and a metal or grey band on
the left. Is such limited info useful to anyone?
Julian
