Ray, I suspect rather than a nest they have young -
my experience in Chapman is that apart from being on sentry and alerting the
partner (who then sneaks off the nest) the pair does not swoop until the young
are hatched (as they are doing in the Chapman horse paddocks right now).
The chicks are reasonably mobile even when very young and hopefully were
able to escape the mower.
