David and others,

I had good views of the White Ibis colony on Saturday morning without
stepping on golf course grounds.

For those interested, you can drive into Riggall Place from the
intersection of Ellenborough St, Mouat St & Gininnderra Dr. This is the
National Sports Club road. Drive straight past the sports club until you
see a sign on your left stating Future Development. This is just past the
tennis courts. You can either drive right up to the Yowani fenceline here
along a dirt track or park here by the sign and walk the final 50 metres to
the fence.

Cheers

The colony of AUWI at Yowani Golf Club is showing signs of expanding
greatly upon last year's effort. Already some 50 to 60 birds are gathering
on and around the island next to the 16th green, and should begin
nest-building soon, based on last year's timing. Their numbers threaten to
displace the Little Pied Cormorants who nest in the same deciduous trees
(mostly poplars, I think) every year.
