Hi Philip,
Nothing really happened to the Chough (the frog got
eaten). I was wondering whether that was their usual diet. The bird in question
tried to move a bit away from the rest of the group (there was no real spirited
chase), and attacked the frog in hawk-like fashion.
Incidentally, while catching the bus back, at the
same time/place as Milburns yesterday(Sullivans Creek), I saw the same(?) Cattle
Egret (flew away just as I arrived, but dumpier than most other egrets).
