In the last week the White-fronted Honeyeater
has tended to arrive and leave from the north side, rather than along Hiles
Place. It seems to like to forage in the scrappy Black Wattle and the Cotoneater
overhanging my long and ragged driveway, and then fly over my house, down to the
Grevillea at the other side of the path at the front. I have heard and or seen
it calling each morning this week (incl today) from the plum and or peach
tree just outside my study window. It is easy to find if it is calling or
active but very difficult if it hides, as it has taken to hiding in the Photinia
hedge or the Melaleuca above the Grevillea and is very hard to find in there.
Again, people are welcome to try their luck but I won't be around all weekend. I
was out all afternoon and last saw it mid day Friday.
