Nesting Lyrebird

Hi All

Some of you will know that we own a place at Rocky Hall (on the escarpment between Bombala and Wyndham, surrounded by South East Forest National Park). Over the past 6-8 weeks we have been observing a female Superb Lyrebird firstly building a nest (about 1.5 metres off the ground in the fork of a tree beside our garage) and then incubating (they do so for about 45 days). Last weekend we saw her carrying worms and then returning to the nest and obviously feeding a chick - I've attached some photos (note the bent tail feathers from sitting in the nest). Hopefully I'll have some more in due course. The male, presumably Dad, hangs around the garden and calls most of the time (photos on the Photo Gallery http://photogallery.canberrabirds.org.au, under "Lyrebird").
