My daughter has just told me of some sightings of wedgetails (eagles rather than shearwaters) along the Captains Flat Road.  Late last week she saw 5 engaged in acrobatic flight, includingsome low level mirror-image talon-clasping, near the junction with the Kings Highway.  This evening her car disturbed two birds, with considerable lighter colouring, munching on some roadkill near where the ex-railway line crosses the road (approximately 35:33S, 149:26E).
