Thanks Bill, yes as a single bird it's
difficult to dismiss that it's an escapee, though assuming it's
the same bird one wonders why it managed to hold on so long (probably over 4
years). Part of the answer may be that it associated with and behaving
like a sulphur-crested cockatoo in that it tends to fly over in the morning from
the Cotter towards Woden/Mt Taylor and return in the afternoon. I've only
seen it stop to perch on a few occasions.
The second question is where has it been for the
past 20 months? Has anyone seen it at all such as round Woden/Mt Taylor in
this time? As you note, it used to be observed there, including if I
recall correctly exhibiting breeding behaviour by examining nest holes in the
company of a sulphur-crested (or was it a galah?).
