I went out to West Macgregor on this cold, overcast afternoon (1 July) ? not surprisingly there was little to be seen ? no sign of the Zebra Finches or Diamond Firetails. But, upon returning to the gate at the end of Cannan Crescent, I heard a loud screech and a commotion as some Magpies and Currawongs attacked something?.to my surprise, a magnificent male Eclectus Parrot flew past me and disappeared into a small clump of eucalypts. A beautiful bird, but I fear it will be regretting leaving home on this chilly night!
