There were 23 Australian Shelducks on the Hoskinstown (Molonglo) Plain this afternoon. I had seen them in the morning as I went to Queanbeyan along the Plains Road, Hoskinstown. When I was coming home I had time to stop and count them. They were rather magnificent in the lightly falling rain. Several gave their loud hollow call.
