A story in the SMH today

states that Kodak has developed a filter that increses the fidelity of
photos taken in poor light. It is expected that this filter will be
avialable in top-end digital cameras by next year and filter down.
As poor light is such a limitation in bird photography perhaps people
who are thinking of upgrading their cameras might consioder waiting
until this filter is available. (It might also allow you to increase
shutter-speed in good light, and capture more of those flighty
birds--Grey Fantail, for example).
