John et al,
I wandered down to the confluence of Yarralumla Ck and Molonglo
River and found the duck. I can confirm it is an Egyptian goose.
Cheers

Hi John,
Just a suggestion but do you have a book that shows the Egyptian
Goose? Most of your description, except for the possible buff coloured ring
(how obvious?) around the neck, fits the EG pretty well.
Brilliant
Mark! I just googled up some photos of the EG, and that's defiinitely what we
saw. The picture here: http://wildflowers-cdrom.com/birds/birdpics/Egyptian_goose.JPG
is the closest likeness to what we saw today. So, is this something that's
often seen around Canberra?
Thanks muchly,
John Brannan
