I spent today driving the back roads between Canberra-Gunning-Yass.
Highlights included a loose mixed species flock along Armours Rd consisting of the following species:

  • Hooded Robin (3)
  • Diamond Firetail (4)
  • Restless Flycatcher (1)
  • Jacky Winter (2)
The male Hooded Robin constantly chasing the JWs. Other birds of interest along Armours Rd were a pair of White-fronted Chats and 4 Australasian Shoveler on a large dam.

Also another male Hooded Robin near Jerrawa, Diamond Firetails at Coolalie and Lade Vale Rd, a Wedge-tailed Eagle along Bango Lane, over 150 Little Ravens along Lade Vale Rd, another 3 Jacky Winters at Hillgrove Rd, 6 Southern Whitefaces at Lade Vale Rd and 3 at TSR 46, Speckled Warblers at Lade Vale Rd and Back Creek Rd, and no Scarlet Robins but plenty of Flame Robins around.

Also a Peron's Tree Frog calling along Back Creek Rd.

Cheers
Marnix
