I was sent this message from a sometime user of GBS data, and thought it might be of interest to any analysts in the group Martin ________________________________ In case it is of interest! I can't recall who was looking at the effects of urbanisation but maybe you can pass this on. I suspect it has potential relevance to fragmentation as well.
Incidentally, I don't know if it is just me, but at the Honours talks I noted a strong tendency for climate to be treated as something to ignore / work around, rather than something to consider / reflect on / incorporate into ecological studies. I'm well aware of the limited amount of time available to Honours students, but I'd love to be involved if you can see any point in (and way of) giving students more of an insight into potential climate effects, and how climate factors can be incorporated into ecological thinking. Not that I have any answers – but I do find it genuinely interesting to look at the questions!
Regards, Heather
