The Geoscience Australia Gazetteer of Australia lists the following:

NORTH CANBERRA -35 16 149 09
CANBERRA CENTRAL -35 17 149 07
SOUTH CANBERRA -35 20 149 08
CANBERRA -35 18 149 07
CANBERRA -35 18 149 08
PARKES -35 18 149 08

So "Canberra" is halfway between North and South Canberra, and a bit
south of Canberra Central (Civic) = Parkes, to the resolution of the
given coordinates (approx. 1.8km).

For aesthetic reasons, I'd mark the spot as the centre of the
Parliamentary Triangle, which is about Reconciliation Place.
