Community Engagement in Conservation
The Conservation Council is the peak non-government environment
organisation for the Canberra Region. The Conservation Council is active in a
number of campaign areas, our current focus includes biodiversity protection,
action on climate change, improved public transport and wise use of
water.
We are
seeking an enthusiastic person to deliver a project aimed at raising awareness
of environmental issues at a local level and encouraging involvement of the
local community in conservation.
The
project is funded through the National Heritage Trust, it is currently underway
and runs to end June 2008. The project focus is on the newly developing areas of
Gungahlin adjacent to the nature reserves of Mulligan?s Flat and Goorooyaroo.
Salary
$40,055 pa. The position is full-time (35 hours per
week).
