Having been a frequent visitor to Newline over the
last couple of months (usually Saturdays at first light), I can confirm that
Peaceful Doves have been sighted there. I have never seen more than one or heard
any calling but, as I am a novice, I could have easily missed
some.
The Brown Treecreepers and Jacky Winters are very
reliable and the other regulars that I generally see there are Crested
Shrike-tit, Southern Whiteface, Speckled Warbler and Varied Sittella. I've
found it a great training ground for familiarisation with woodland birds, once
you get past all the starlings.
Simon Bennett took a great photo of Dusky
Woodswallows there a couple of weeks ago which can be found at:
Leo.
