Wallaga Lake had to be opened to the sea way back in February when there
were 10 inches of rain over a weekend, I think.  The water flooded over,
and closed the causeway and bull dozers were used to open the bar across
the entrance to the lake. It will be interesting to see how long the
opening stays

We were there a week or two after the rain and the water in the lake was
very low. It is shallow anyway as much soil hs been washed into it.  Many
birds were enjoying the opportunity to feed in the mud
