Martin and others
Attached is a scan of a photocopy of an
article from Canberra Bird Notes. I don’t have the whole article, or the volume,
just this copy which someone gave to me (I don’t even know the author –
maybe it was Alan Scrymgeour?). Can anyone dig up a copy of CBN Vol 19 No 4, December 1994?
The scan shows some details regarding
roosting requirements for treecreepers and instructions for making a
treecreeper sleeping bag.
Cheers
Anthony

Eavecreepers
Thank goodness I put a condition regarding "my awareness" to
my original comment about what one correspondent has refrred to as an
eavescreeper! Allowing for some off-line responses to my message it
now appears that treecreepers roosting under eaves is bog common.
I attach the first (very poor quality) photo of this occurence. A
photograph of other evidence of the bird's presence will be provided on
request.
I merely hope that my overdue recognition of this
phenomenon, and the efforts of the PB Attractor of Garran, will be
rewarded by my seeing the Chapman - or indeed any ACT located - Pied
Butcherbird tomorrow morning.

Martin, and if I recall
correctly (it's testing my memory a bit) at the
Scrymgeour's property Timbarra where COG will be camping over the June
weekend there was a similar situation a few years ago (roosting right near
the front door as I remember it).
