My first Flame Robins for this year (4 females/immatures) were seen this morning on the SW track of Cooleman Ridge, about 1.5 km from the NW end.  A different spot and about a week earlier than last year.  In this walk 3 different male Scarlet Robins were also seen and heard, separated by 0.5-1 km.

Near the Flame Robins were 2 Diamond Firetail and 2 Southern Whiteface.  While the former have been sighted regularly on the ridge over the past few months in small numbers, this was the first record of the latter in 2007.

Also seen/heard were 5 Brown-headed Honeyeaters and the first White-eared Honeyeater for the area this season.

Later in the day Dusky Woodswallows were overhead our house again constantly from 3-4 pm, though never more than 3 together, accompanied by a Welcome Swallow on one occasion.
