I see others have already said much the same thing. This is what I had ready to send to Ann (before seeing those comments) but as others have already responded, I might as well send to the list anyway.

Thanks for the close photos. Quite interesting that you could get that close. I think they don't like being watched. I don't know, the photos are very close and so it is hard to be sure. Obviously I am not seeing it as clearly as you did and don't know the size of it. Why isn't it a Collared Sparrowhawk? Just on the photos it looks more like that, to me. The beak looks small relative to the head and the middle toe looks very long also the tail isn't obviously rounded.
