[UNCLASSIFIED] G cormorant, domestic duck

Around the lakes and ponds of Belconnen I have been surprised by the number of domestic ducks and great cormorants. Are they breeding?

 

McKellar Pond: At McKellar pond yesterday was a brown domestic duck with a white throat.

Giralang pond: Strangely the all-brown domestic duck seen recently at McKellar pond had moved to Giralang pond, across the road. Two great cormorants. I vote Giralang pond as one of the most garbage-ridden in ACT- it is a shame there was no ‘clean up Australia day’ activity here (I presume).

Lake Ginninderra Peninsula/Diddams- 6 great cormorants. 2 immature white plumed honeyeaters.

LG Western Foreshores park- 6 domestic ducks
