I too have noticed the pied Coot on various visits to the northern end of
Lake Ginninderra in recent weeks. It is especially striking in full
sunlight viewed through binoculars.

At lunchtime today at the top end of Lake Ginninderra about 100m from
the fence across the lake there was a strikingly marked pied Coot.
Unfortunately it was miles from the bank so no chance of a
photograph. At least 2 Great Egrets present but no sign of Brown
Quail today.
