There seems to be a Black-cockatoo daytime roost in the Sydney Gully in the
Botanic Gardens.
On Wednesday a pair plus calling youngster were present escaping the
daytime heat and today they were joined by at least another 8 birds, all
perched in the shade.
Cheers

Most evenings (anywhere between 5.15 and 6.15pm) over the last fortnight I
have observed small groups (2-8 birds) of Yellow-tailed Black-cockatoos
flying over the Cotter Rd, north from Curtin into Yarralumla.
Maybe a roosting spot somewhere in there? Or just feeding in the pines?

Seem to be a lot of black cockatoos around at present - earlier this
morning a group of nine flew over as I was hanging out the washing
(Wanniassa) - now I've just had a group of 8 fly past my office window - I
haven't noted them in Parkes previously
At Jerrabomberra Wetlands yesterday afternoon a royal spoonbill,
intermediate egret, white faced heron, several dollar birds, quite a number
of black fronted dotterels (adults and juveniles) and some Aust ravens
paddling and obviously finding something worth eating
