Ian, re the Little Black Cormorant nests, I'm assuming you mean on the eastern side of Black Mountain Peninsula, to the north (towards Sullivan's Creek) of Gary Owen Drive.

If so, this has been a regular spot for breeding over the past 3 or 4 seasons. The annual COG boat trip there of last weekend counted 120+ birds there and about 40 nests (much easier to see and count from the water side than from the bike track). More details will be in this month's Gang-gang.

If not, it would represent a further expansion of the nesting.
