Here is another mystery that I find interesting about
one of our common birds.
I have been to Uriarra crossing off and on over the
past 3 years (mainly in hotter months) to look for the common sandpiper, go
birding or have a swim I am almost always there at dusk. At that time large
numbers (on Monday about 80 birds in 4 or 5 flocks) of sulphur crested cockatoos
fly over from East to West or North west. Usually silently.
Where are they going?
Has anyone else noticed this? Or is it just
chance.
