Late yesterday evening (Thur 18 Jan 07) Kathy heard some lorikeets fly over the house (in Watson).  We went outside to look for them and could now hear them in Justice Robert Hope Park.  So we set off for the Park and found 3 Musk Lorikeets feeding in one of the flowering Eucalypts.  We watched them for about 10 minutes.  They were continually harassed by the Noisy Miners and occasionally the Red Wattlebirds.  Every now and again they would leave the tree and whiz around the area for awhile before returning.

We also heard lorikeets fly over the house this morning, so perhaps they roosted in the Park last night.

[Justice Robert Hope Park is shown in the yellow pages map 40, grid reference E15, ie western side of Antill St, beyond where Watson/Hackett end.  If you are looking for them, I am sure you will hear where they are if they are there.  Nevertheless, yesterday’s tree was in the far SW corner and had a myna trap under it.]
