I just (about half an hour ago) heard and then saw the Weetangera koel, fully exposed, at the top of a dead tree. Of course, by the time I had got my binoculars (only 2 or 3 minutes) it had gone. However, I then heard it/one calling from some way away, such that I wonder if it was the same bird or another. The one I saw was giving what I would call the oscillating call, while the second call was the more common wail.
