Being utterly parochial here, the “Page” koel has apparently - unaccountably – taken up residence in Macquarie or Weetangera and has been calling on and off for a couple of weeks now from that direction. But he (and the only times I have seen the calling bird, it has been a dull grey, presumably an immature male) moves around quite a bit and normally does a circuit through Page fairly early most mornings. Including today. I’m fairly sure there is only one bird involved but I’d love to be proved wrong. Great news re the pair nearer the city – and it would be delightful if records of them found their way to the COG databases. b
