Hello friends and birding colleagues, and I hope your Christmas was peaceful and happy. For whatever it's worth, I'd just like to support David's assessment of this book (by a Canberra author!). It really is a 'must read' for any of us who are interested in the last century or so of 'organised' birding in Australia.

(And in that general vein, does anyone have any news of the most recent 'Handbook of the Birds of the World'? I was expecting to see it by now.)

May 2006 end and 2007 begin exactly as you'd wish - including of course, good birding.

Ian
