I was out at mulligans this morning from about 7.30am. Steve's Little
Lorikeets are still there in the same area as the white-browed
woodswallows. Difficult to know how many - I never saw more that 4 at one
time, but likely there were more. They were very active earlier on,
streaking around over a wide area, and occasionally stopping to feed in
various taller eucalypts. I spent a long time trying to get photos, but
the results are too poor to post on the list. 1 Little Friarbird in the
same area. I have now found at least six woodswallow nests, three of
which have eggs. Interestingly, the woodswallows did not like the
presence of the Little Friarbird, and tried to chase it away. They don't
take eggs, do they?
3 Dollarbirds at the large dam (appeared to be a pair and what I assume
was an intruding male from their behaviour) - these were the first I've
seen this spring. 1 White-necked Heron, 1 Hobby, 1 Mistletoebird (Jack, in
relation to your comment, I've seen two or three this spring, but there
doesn't appear to be many around) and several small parties of Superb
Parrots (largest was 7).

Frank Antram
