Hi John,
Nice to get these obs. I haven't seen them within
Canberra suburban area yet. Around the Young - Boorowa - Grenfell etc. area it
is not uncommon to see them feeding on the main road side within a metre of the
road and the birds in Canberra are most likely the same population, so I don't
think that close to the footpath and road
is the most likely reason.
